About Us

Re-enactment Club "Preobrazhensky Life Guard Regiment" was raised in December 1987 in Leningrad (now Saint-Petersburg, Russia). They were several enthusiasts, who decided to learn history not just theoretically but "in practice". Their goal was to re-create uniforms, equipment and weapons of Russian Imperial Guards in the campaign of 1812.

Today our Group represents Grenadier platoon of 1st Grenadier Company of Preobrazhensky Life Guard Regiment. We re-create every kind of uniforms of the Regiment - from full dress to undress, re-create bivouac stuff and everyday life of Russian soldiers of early XIX c., re-enact platoon tactics according to Regulation 1811. Since 1988, members of the Group participated in annual military-historical events at Borodino and in various reenactments, parades and performances in different places across Russia and Europe - those connected to the history of Napoleonic wars.

The Group unites people of different ages and occupations and has up to 20 equipped participants including 3 NCOs, ensign, drummer and private grenadiers. We are located in St.Petersburg, Russia and some our members live in Moscow.
